Leonardo is designed around three BMX 20" wheels with two wheels in front and one at the back which is driven by chain mechanism.

A Honda GX31, 4-stroke Petrol engine provides enough power to run the car efficiently at a maximum speed of 37 miles per hour. Fitted with a custom made 50ml glass fuel tank that is enough to take the car around the race.

The innovative foot steering mechanism provides ease of handling the car.

Most of the parts have been engineered in-house using the departmentals state-of-the-art facilities. Expert advice and support was provided by Dave Thorn throughout the Project

The innovative chasis design is constructed using an old aluminium ladder, which is light-weight and strong to take the weight of a driver and the engine. The pioneering Foot-steering helps easy handling on the corners.

The body of the car is made using High Density Foam and painted to achieve a smooth finish. Aerodynamics are very crucial for a smooth flow and the car design allows a smooth air flow providing least resistance. With minimum drag, the car can roll longer on the track using less fuel. The driving position is very low (almost lying down) which also helps the aerodynamic shape of the car
